Sugarcane Ripening Trials for Smallholder Farmers. A DJI Agriculture dealer partnered with the South African Sugarcane Research Institute and the University of Pretoria to run participatory drone-spraying trials with 15 smallholder farmers across 11 locations. Spraying ripeners with Agras drones on small, hilly 5-10 ha plots, unsuitable for conventional aerial spraying, increased sugar yields by 0.21 to 1.78 t/ha.
